A car went into Third River Tuesday in Bloomfield. (BLOOMFIELD FIRE DEPT.)

Bloomfield firefighters rescued two individuals Tuesday afternoon from a vehicle that went into the Third River off of an elevated parking area near Obal’s Inn on Broad Street.

According to Bloomfield Fire Dept., Engine 3, Engine 4, Truck 1, & Car 30 responded to the scene. Using multiple ground ladders, firefighters were able to reach the vehicle to extricate them, while Engine 3 used their winch to secure the vehicle from sliding any further.

Bloomfield EMS assisted the individuals after the rescue; there is no further information on their status.
