Want to ensure that traveling or being away at college won’t keep you from voting? Apply to vote-by-mail by completing the Vote-By-Mail Ballot application and returning it to their County Clerk.

After you complete your Vote-By-Mail Ballot, you can return it in one of three ways:

  • Mail it back. (It must be postmarked on or before 8:00 p.m. Election Day and be received by your county’s Board of Elections on or before six days after Election Day.)
  • Place it in one of your county’s Secure Ballot Drop Box Locations. In Montclair, there are two: Municipal Building at
205 Claremont Avenue and Montclair State University at 1 Normal Avenue.
  • Return it to your County Board of Elections Office.

In-Person Early Voting

Locations are open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. No appointment is needed, and accommodations are available for voters with disabilities. Find your county’s locations at VOTE.NJ.GOV.
