Update: This dog has been reunited with his family!

The dog looked confused but energetic. We got it some water at the (Glen Ridge) police station. It drank a lot of water. It had no collar.
Animal Control picked-up the dog from the Glen Ridge police station around 8:40am.

I hope they check for a microchip. This is why dogs should wear collars at all times. They are great escape artists! If you don’t like the hanging pet tags, you can get one that attaches flat to the collar. Poor puppy – I hope he gets reunited with his family quickly.
Does anyone know who Glen Ridge uses for Animal Control? There’s no information on their town website.
Bloomfield Animal Shelter takes care of Glen Ridge. Their number is 973-748-0194. He looks more like a yellow lab in this picture.
Hopefully his human companion finds him soon- there are still ongoing issues at the Bloomfield Animal Shelter – no volunteer program – dogs are being walked 3-5 minutes per walk. The issues come up at nearly every Town Council meeting and we’re told that they are working on it.
Used to be a vibrant shelter with lots of volunteers and a great deal of love, socialization, and training (a trainer came in every weekend for free) for the dogs. It’s heartbreaking.
Good News! I stopped by the shelter in Bloomfield today and found out that the dog was picked up by it’s owner on Wednesday, He back home where he belongs
