Last year, local bars and restaurants were all about Trivia Nights. This year? It’s all about the dance floor.
From disco beats to Latin rhythms and everything in between, Montclair’s nightlife scene is bringing the moves. If you’re ready to let loose, we’ve got you covered. Here’s where to go dancing in Montclair.

All My Friends has been throwing some major dance parties in Essex County. After getting SOMA residents on the dance floor for a while, the group moved to Porta Montclair (492 Bloomfield Ave, Montclair), offering monthly dance parties. The next one is on April 25, and All My Friends is hosting Mother’s Day Dance Parties too!

ON April 30 at Porta, join Planned Parenthood of Metropolitan New Jersey for a night of dancing, community, and action. “Bans Off Dance Off” is more than just a party—it’s a way to show up, support reproductive rights, and have a good time doing it. Tickets range from $25 to $500+ and a portion goes to Planned Parenthood.

Also coming up at Porta (492 Bloomfield Ave, Montclair) is Disco Aperitivo – Italian Vibes, Curated Sounds, Art & Good Times on June 1. Enjoy a night of disco, funk, and soul with DJ Cher LaLuna spinning curated tracks to set the mood. Plus, signature cocktails and Italian-style bites.

Fridays are for dancing at Oso Felipe (2 Erie Street, Montclair)! Dee Jay Rich takes over the upstairs lounge every week from 9:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., spinning classic hip hop and throwback faves from the ’90s and early 2000s. Start your weekend with great vibes and Happy Hour specials from 9:30 to 11 p.m. — enjoy $2 off margaritas, palomas, and wine.

Coming up: “Bad Moms Prom” on Thursday, May 2, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. — a one-night-only celebration of dancing, drinks, tacos, and solidarity. The event benefits Planned Parenthood and the ongoing fight for reproductive justice. Your ticket includes music by Dee Jay Rich, a taco bar, two drink tickets (cash bar available), and all the prom night energy you can handle. $100 in advance, $110 at the door.

New Wave and 80s music fans can move to the sounds of The Smiths and New Order at the frequent Infinite Loop dance party! They are hosted by DJ Bruce M Ciccone at Tierney’s Tavern. The next one up is on May 17.

Alto Rooftop at The MC Hotel hosts a dance party every Friday and Saturday night! A rotating lineup of DJs keeps the energy high and the beats flowing, perfect for dancing under the stars.

Latinos of Montclair host a monthly dance party called Thursday Bodega Nights at Montclair Brewery. It’s a casual dance night, where you can enjoy “our “cultura, música, comunidad, y buenas vibras come together.” There’s even a Salsa lesson! Next one up is on May 8, $15 Ticket / $20 at the Door.

Montclair’s dance parties? Can’t stop, won’t stop! New parties and boogie-worthy nights are always popping up around town. Be sure to check our Event Calendar for the latest happenings we may not have listed.
