
The Township of Montclair has shared a heat advisory issued by the National Weather Service. From noon today through 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 20, Montclair and most of the state will have heat index values of 95-100.
The National Weather Service issues a heat advisory when the combination of heat and humidity is expected to make it feel like 95 to 99 degrees for two or more consecutive days. Or 100 to 104 degrees for any length of time.

Montclair Health and Human Services shared the following on preventing heat-related illnesses:

Due to the excessive heat this week, Essex Pool will be open tomorrow, June 19th, and Thursday, June 20th, from 1pm to 8pm to Montclair residents. All three Montclair pools (Mountainside and Nishuane) will be open for the season starting, Friday June 21st, at 12:00pm to 8:00pm. Residents can purchase daily passes at the pools.
You can cool off at one of the designated cooling centers in Essex County. Visit nj211.org or text your zip code to 898211 to find a cooling center near you.
