Montclair Fire Department received a call reporting a fire on Appleton Place in Glen Ridge Friday morning at 6:40 a.m. The house, under renovation, was vacant at the time. Montclair Fire Dept. arrived to find fire on multiple floors. Firefighters quickly stretched multiple hose lines to fight and extinguish the fire. There was fire damage on all levels as well as smoke and water damage throughout the house. The fire reached two alarm status; trucks from Bloomfield, Clifton, West Orange and East Orange reported to the scene. There were no reported injuries. The last unit cleared the scene at 9:50 a.m. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
